OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt alongside state election officials announced on Wednesday, the removal of over 453,500 voter registrations.

Since January 1, 2021 officials say, Oklahoma election officials have removed 97,065 deceased voters, 143,682 voters who moved out-of-state, 5,607 felons, 14,993 duplicate registrations, and 194,962 inactive voters who were canceled during the address verification process.

Oklahoma's electoral process is one of the strongest in the nation.
Campaign Finance and Election Threats Task Force

"Through close collaboration with the Governor's Office, the State Election Board, and our colleagues in the Legislature, Oklahoma has fortified our electoral process. We've aggressively pursued policies to ensure voting is secure and accurate, and we're innovating to protect our elections from emerging technology like AI. In Oklahoma, every eligible citizen will have their vote counted and their voice heard."
Secretary of State Josh Cockroft

The Campaign Finance and Election Threats Task Force, formed in 2023 by Stitt says, citing numerous successful audits concluded Oklahoma's electoral process is one of the strongest in the nation.

"Oklahoma has a long tradition of doing elections right. Recounts and post-election audits have consistently proven the accuracy of Oklahoma's voting system, and our laws and procedures are designed to ensure the integrity and security of our elections."
Secretary of the State Election Board Paul Ziriax

Oklahoma Election Fast Facts released by Governor Stitt's office:

  • Oklahoma continues the tradition of using hand-marked paper ballots which are counted by an e-scan tabulator.
  • The e-scan vote tabulators do not have the capability to connect to the internet.
  • Election officials work closely with Oklahoma Cyber Command to protect our election system from would-be attackers.
  • During a recount or post-election audit, election results are confirmed by hand-counting paper ballots.
  • The State and County Election Boards are bipartisan.
  • In 2020, Governor Stitt signed SB 1779 to outlaw the practice of "ballot harvesting" and create new criminal penalties for violators.
  • Oklahoma voter ID laws require proof of identity for every voter, regardless of whether you're voting early, absentee, or in-person.
  • Only United States citizens who are residents of Oklahoma may register to vote and state law explicitly prohibits noncitizens from accessing voter registration services.
  • Poll watchers are commissioned by a candidate or the chair of a recognized political party to observe voting devices before and after the polls close.
  • Polling places across Oklahoma are staffed by volunteers and voters just like you. Learn more about becoming a poll worker HERE.
  • The deadline to register to vote in the November election is October 11, 2024. Oklahomans can register to vote HERE and check their voter registration status

I know it's difficult to judge, but I'd be curious about what the probable percentages of Democratic and Republican voters whose registrations were deleted could have been.  From some of the things I've been reading, it seems that Republican-controlled States have been making it more difficult for some to vote by such things as not permitting drop boxes.

How can this be?

There’s no voter fraud.

This has to be a lie.

Lol - and where is the fraud exactly?  Are you a Minority Report precog or something?  There is literally nothing about this that indicates fraud.  It will be fraud when they catch someone voting more than once (typically a Republican), or when it becomes apparent that certain legal voters were removed without their knowledge.

Dont you know? They can say whatever they want and expect to have it taken seriously.  It happens all the time.

Most thinking people can deduce, that if this is happening in Oklahoma, it’s probably happening in other states. Are they all being proactive. Nope. Michigan for example has more registered voters than eligible voters. Etc, etc

None of those categories are indicative of voter fraud.

It would be nice if he could define what “this” is.  It’s much easier for these guys to pretend it’s too obvious for them to have to spell it out.

Most thinking people can deduce, that if this is happening in Oklahoma, it’s probably happening in other states.

What is happening in Oklahoma that isn't happening in other States? People dying but still being on the voter rolls? People getting convicted of crimes and becoming felons? Heck, one of the candidates has been convicted of 34 felonies, I'll bet he's still on the voter roll in Florida. People moving out of the State and are still on the voter rolls? Happens all the time in every State. None of that indicates any fraud as there are zero claims, at least in this article, that there are massive amounts of dead people, former State residents or felons voting illegally in any State. All States go through this process every few years of voter roll purges.

The only part of this purge that may actually be an attempt of fraud is the purging of the almost 200,000 inactive voters who may have simply missed responding to a residency check or chose not to vote in a single past election. I agree that if they want to have their vote count, they should treat it like its valuable and thus make sure they vote or respond so they don't get dropped off voter rolls. But I also get that life happens and sometimes when people get hit with a health crisis some other life crisis and may not have been able to respond or vote and that shouldn't be a reason to silence them. Hopefully those who are getting purged check on their status and get reregistered in time for the election.

All justified reasons.  Does the left want everybody to freak out over OK doing what they are supposed to be doing?

NONE of these categories are indicative of voter fraud. And even if they were, in Oklahoma it would be MAGA committing the fraud.

The one that is troubling is " inactive voters"  which sounds like it could be used to purge voters .

Not sure of your logic on this one. If they are inactive, they aren't voting. So what is the big deal?

If they are inactive then what business is it of anyone?  Where is the risk in an inactive voter?  Thats like the library canceling your library card because you didn’t use it.  They don’t do that because it doesn’t matter whether you use it or not.

How about if someone else uses it, takes out 4 books and 3 or 4 Movie DVD's and doesn't return them? You willing to pay for that? After all, you weren't using it.

If they are inactive then what business is it of anyone.

I'll bet you thought that citizenship proof to vote bill was also a waste of time..........

How would someone know if you aren’t using your library card?  How would a random stranger trying not to get caught committing a felony for adding a single illegal vote know if the vote they are stealing is from an inactive voter?  Do you ever think about the impossibly stupid logistics of what you guys claim (with zero evidence) is happening?

While true it’s still a different situation.  If you show up at the library with an expired card they don’t send you home without a book, they issue you another one.  Republicans seek to send you home having cast a provisional ballot, then make broad arguments that provisional ballots shouldn’t be counted for trivial reasons.

If some people haven't voted for a few years, it's pretty standard to purge them from the voter rolls.

This is nothing new or unusual about this, most states do the same thing.

I checked my voter registration just to be sure I was still active. Your registration will go inactive if you haven't voted in a few consecutive voter cycles. I don't know how many that is
