FBI nears deadline for subpoena related to alleged Biden bribery scandal
The FBI faces a deadline to provide a record of an interview with a whistleblower alleging President Biden and his family engaged in bribery.

The FBI is nearing a Wednesday deadline to provide documents to House Republicans relating to an alleged bribery scandal involving President Biden.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., filed a subpoena alongside Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, seeking the record of a 2020 interview with a source who they believe made extensive bribery and influence-peddling allegations against Biden relating to his time as vice president.

"We believe the FBI possesses an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States. What we don't know is what, if anything, the FBI has done to verify these claims or investigate further. The FBI's recent history of botching politically charged investigations demands close congressional oversight," Grassley said in a statement regarding the subpoena.

The pair filed the subpoena after an FBI whistleblower approached Grassley's office regarding the reported interview, according to Punchbowl News.

The whistleblower argued Biden and various members of his family benefited from foreign policy decisions he made throughout his career.

"The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself," Comer said in a statement. "Senator Grassley and I will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people."

Both Grassley and Comer have been investigating the president's business dealings for years, and the White House has long dismissed their allegations. Administration officials maintain that the president never spoke to his son, Hunter Biden, about his business dealings, and have continued to say that the president was never involved in them.

White House spokesman Ian Sams accused the pair of "floating anonymous innuendo, amplified by the megaphone of their allies in right-wing media, to get attention and try to distract and deflect from their own unpopular ideas and lack of solutions to the issues the American people actually care about."

"When it comes to President Biden's personal finances, anybody can take a look: he has offered an unprecedented level of transparency, releasing a total of 25 years of tax returns to the American public," he added.

Biden's administration has already set a precedent of ignoring GOP subpoenas. The State Department has ignored multiple deadlines for providing documents relating to the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan as well.

Of course the best way to dispose of these allegations is to simply turn over the document so we can see what's in there.

I wonder why the FBI is so reluctant?

They are under subpoena.

We all know.

House subpoenas only matter when Democrats are the ones in charge.

DOJ and FBI are nothing more than tools of the Democrat Party.

Since it is an unclassified document- hopefully a leaker will acquire and simply send it out to the masses. Then the FBI can explain not only why they didn't release it; but why they can't keep anything secure.

Right now, I'm sure Christopher Wray has Biden calling him and is wondering how the hell do we get out of this one, lest the FBI look like what it really is

The point is that Bannon was actually held in criminal contempt for defying a subpoena and thus, House subpoenas CAN HAVE MEANING.

Republicans have to do it to Wray. He has until Wednesday.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., urged the Justice Department to hold on a potential  Hunter Biden indictment  until after Republicans hold a press conference unveiling additional details surrounding the Biden family's business dealings.

Comer warned officials to wait to charge the first son until they hear from congressional leaders, arguing that the possible indictment could be just a "slap on the wrist" compared to their upcoming revelations.

"My message to the Department of Justice is very loud and clear. Do not indict Hunter Biden before Wednesday," Comer said  during "Sunday Morning Futures."

Didn't they misplace Hunter's laptop?

Both Grassley and Comer have been investigating the president's business dealings for years,

and have come up with nothing. Comer was asked a few months ago what evidence he had against Biden and he said he was still looking for it.

The GOP committees are a clown show.

We can see what they have if the FBI would turn over a single unclassified document.

Why won't they, John?

John?

No more than the Democrat clowns on the the Jan 6th committee; both of the Trump impeachments; and the entire Mueller Russian collusion investigation.

The FBI doesn't get to pick and choose which House requests they get to honor and ignore.

Either they give the document to the House; or the DOJ needs to prosecute the offenders for defying a the subpoena. They already set the standard with Steve Bannon, and other Trump government members.

Democrats made this shit show two tier justice system circus; now they need to live by those same exact standards. Or prove the US is no better than any dictatorship that Brandon has bashed/alienated since in office. Tin horn dictators the world over are eagerly waiting their response.

So what is the FBI hiding John?  Why the cover up? Shouldn't the American people know if their president is a crook?

Taking bribes and influence peddling is serious stuff. So is hiding off the books income.

Ok, you tell us what the evidence is of this after Jordan and Comer have been investigating the Bidens for "years" (by their own admission)

If you have nothing to take to the public after years you have nothing.

No they only have been looking at this for a few months (the Republicans took control of the House in January.)  Please don't tell us that they have uncovered the criminality that the DOJ/FBI couldn't find in 5 years!

Do you know what is better than a whistleblower?

Answer: Two whistleblowers!

I don't understand why the DOJ/FBI would not want to see what the Committee has learned from whistleblowers and potentially new evidence?

Anyone?
