Securing the border

Securing the border
“We’re going to have to seal up those borders and we’re going to have to let people come into our country. We want people to come back in, but we have to let them come back in, but they have to come back in legally,” said Trump.

Link to quote: Illegal migrants rush to cross border before Trump takes office and institutes crack down

The last time Donald Trump was President, the US had a "zero-tolerance" policy that allowed authorities to deport adults who crossed the border illegally. In January 2019, the Trump administration implemented a policy - officially known as Migrant Protection Protocols, which forced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for their US immigration hearings. And during the pandemic the Trump administration invoked Title 42, a statute meant as a public health measure. The policy allowed US authorities to swiftly expel migrants - including asylum seekers at the border. All of these measures helped to keep the US border relatively secure.

When Joe Biden became president he dismantled all of those policies and acted as a radical leftists dream president. Not only did he welcome the migrants during the democrat primary:

"As a candidate, Joe Biden said that if he were elected president, migrants should "immediately surge to the border." The migrants took him up on it. "What I would do as president is several more things," Biden said at the first Democratic primary debate for the 2020 election. "I would in fact make sure that there is… We immediately surge to the border, all those people who are seeking asylum."

FLASHBACK: Biden Tells Migrants To 'Surge to the Border'

It took a Presidential election for Joe Biden to try and walk some of it back. In the 3 years that Biden had the southern border wide open, it is estimated that between 10 million and maybe as many as 20 million entered the US illegally. We know little to nothing of these people. Some are criminals, some are terrorists, and some are bringing drugs and human trafficking. During those 3 years the US underwent a Fentanyl crisis. Today many democrat governors have vowed to try and prevent the federal government from deporting the migrants. I doubt we will hear any more BS arguments about the border being secure or that Joe tried to secure it at the last minute, but Trump stopped him. Any reasonable person can see that democrats wanted these people in the country and the motives are obvious. First, they want amnesty and voting rights for these people who are sure to repay the democrats with their votes. Second, they want to change the demographics of the country they don't particularly like.

The real Border Czar:

President-elect Trump has chosen former ICE Director Thomas Homan to act as a real border czar, not the farce that was Kamala Harris.

tom-homan-3.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

Tom Holman is dedicated to securing the border and deporting the illegal migrants that Biden invited in, starting with the criminals and gradually working towards those who simply violated our immigration laws. If that was not enough, Trump, in a 4 a.m. Truth Social post, confirmed that he would declare a national emergency and use the US military to help deport undocumented immigrants en masse. His team also plans to open holding camps for migrants and to try to end birthright citizenship. As for Mexico, they may once again be faced with a choice between reinstating the "Remain-in-Mexico" policy or forfeiting trade with the US.

The American people have spoken.

In the news:

Nearly 100 aid trucks were looted at gunpoint in Gaza. Neither the Gaza Health Ministry nor UN officials can figure out who was responsible for the attack.

A court in Hong Kong sentenced 45 former politicians and activists under a Beijing-imposed national security law.

Venezuela’s government released 131 dissidents arrested in a crackdown after the country’s disputed presidential election. The move was seen as a goodwill gesture to President-elect Trump.

Russia made its largest territorial gains in over two years last month.

"The vicious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua has  expanded its territory  to at least 16 US states — an area that includes half of America’s population, The Post has learned.

Homeland Security officials last week were warned in an internal department intelligence memo about TdA’s growing presence across the country, most recently in Washington, DC, Virginia, Montana and Wyoming.

The gang already has footholds in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin, according to the memo and previous reporting by The Post."

Tren de Aragua has already set up shop in these 16 states, Homeland Security warns

Stories about Matt Gaetz are leaking out throughout the media, as I predicted.

Good morning.

The slandering of a New York institution by those who seek to play victim.

AA1udeQ5.img?w=768&h=512&m=6&x=1190&y=596&s=578&d=578

N EW YORK — Whoopi Goldberg was publicly accused of defamation on Friday, two days after “The View” co-host suggested a bakery didn’t want to make her birthday desserts due to her left-leaning political views.

Goldberg celebrated her 69th birthday on “The View” this week, where she told viewers her order for several dozen Charlotte Russe cakes was initially refused. Though Goldberg didn’t identify the bakery in question, many viewers quickly figured out she was referring to Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island, thanks to the sweet treat’s distinct packaging.

On Thursday, owner Jill Holtermann — whose family operates the 146-year-old bakery in Great Kills — confirmed she was the person Goldberg called out. She  denied refusing the preorder because of politics , and instead said she rejected it due to equipment issues.

At a  press conference on Friday , Holtermann was joined by  Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella , who alleged Goldberg “besmirched and defamed” Holtermann’s Bakery, causing an “unwarranted controversy.” The Republican demanded she issue a public apology for “making stuff up to suit [her] needs.”

According to Goldberg, she was told the bakery couldn’t honor her 50-unit order because of trouble with their boiler. But when aides were sent to pick up the cakes in person two weeks later, they had no problem, leading Goldberg to believe the bakery “did not like my politics.”

Fossella backed Holtermann’s claim that the bake shop didn’t take Goldberg’s preorder because they weren’t sure when the kitchen would be up and running effectively. The bakery’s signature cakes eventually did get made and were enjoyed by the co-hosts of “The View” at the end of Wednesday’s episode.

Staten Island Councilman David Carr  also took to the mic at the press conference, saying they were gathered “to send a message to the person who decided she was too important for a boiler breakdown.”

“She had to have her pastries and if it wasn’t coming to her, it must have been someone else’s fault. It must have been a directed insult to her,” he said.

He later  slammed the co-hosts of “The View”  in a post on Facebook.

“Shame on the members of ‘The View’ for slandering a Staten Island institution with an exceptional reputation spanning over a century,” he wrote. “I’m proud to defend Holtermann’s Bakery and any Staten Island business from baseless political accusations.”

Holtermann on Friday thanked all those who showed their support at the press conference, as well as those who reached out after word spread that she and her team were the alleged culprits in the morning show drama.

Staten Island officials accuse Whoopi Goldberg of defaming Holtermann’s Bakery

Do you remember what you once told us about something unproven may still be true?

Perhaps you can put all of us at ease and explain why on election night 2020, Fulton County suddenly stopped the vote count and told all observers and voters to leave the polling place because of a burst water main pipe, which turned out to only be a backed-up toilet?

We never got a reasonable explanation for that.

CLAIM: On election night in 2020, a burst water pipe at a ballot processing site in Georgia’s Fulton County allowed workers to steal the election from former President Donald Trump.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. A water leak   briefly delayed   ballot processing in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena early that morning. Unrelated surveillance footage from the late evening showed workers removing ballot containers from under a table after confusion arose about when work was ending for the night. This was the subject of false claims that it depicted workers pulling out “suitcases” of illicit votes, but investigators   later determined   it was part of normal ballot processing and there was no evidence of improper ballots.

THE FACTS: In the wake of Trump and 18 of his allies   being indicted in Georgia   on Monday over their efforts to overturn the former president’s 2020 election loss, years-old false claims about ballot counting in the state are recirculating on social media.

The posts falsely link a brief delay in the count at State Farm Arena — caused by an issue with water pipes — to a   long-debunked claim   that “suitcases filled with ballots” were hidden under a cloth-covered table and then illicitly tallied without supervision after workers were told to leave.

One Instagram post that included the surveillance footage stated: “Never forget. Trump was leading Georgia by 160,000 votes, then a ‘water pipe burst’ and 4 suitcases came out…” It had received more than 102,000 likes as of Thursday.

Another Instagram post claimed that after the pipe burst, “video would later show multiple people inside the arena continuing to count votes unsupervised,” then suggested that this event robbed Trump of his lead in the race.

But these claims are falsely conflating two incidents that happened hours apart, neither of which are evidence of fraud.

Around 6 a.m. on Election Day — Nov. 3, 2020 — a “plumbing incident” briefly delayed the processing of Fulton County absentee ballots at State Farm Arena,   the county tweeted at the time . Work resumed after two hours and no ballots or equipment was damaged. The incident was first reported as a burst pipe, but officials   later said   the water leak was due to a faulty urinal.

Separately, the posts’ mentions of “suitcases” and “unsupervised” vote-counting refer to a false narrative about surveillance footage of the facility much later that day, starting about 14 hours after the water issue was resolved.

In reality, the footage showed some confusion that arose after election workers mistakenly thought they were done for the evening, but nothing illicit, as   the AP reported in 2020 .

Gabriel Sterling, a top elections official in the Georgia secretary of state’s office, told the AP in December of that year that some workers, as well as members of the media and Republican observers, started leaving the facility. However, no one told observers they had to leave, then-Fulton County Elections Director Richard Barron said during a   public meeting   around the same time.

Other workers began packing up, Sterling said. This involved putting ballots that had been opened and flattened for scanning into boxes and under a table. Barron said he found out around 10:30 p.m. He then called the supervisor on site and instructed the team to continue scanning ballots that had already been prepared. They pulled the same boxes back out — regular ballot containers on wheels, not suitcases — and resumed working, according to Sterling.

It’s true that there was a brief period where observers were not present, Barron said at the public meeting, however this is not a breach of protocol.   Georgia law   permits observers to stay in the room the whole time, but doesn’t require them to be there for counting to take place.

Regardless, after that short period, an independent state election board monitor arrived to oversee the scanning at 11:52 p.m.,   according to Barron . A state investigator arrived at 12:15 a.m. Both individuals remained at the facility until the count concluded for the night.

The secretary of state’s office   said it was aware   of the late-night counting and after reviewing the entirety of the surveillance footage, investigators later determined that it showed “normal ballot processing,”   Sterling tweeted   in December 2020.

A lawsuit   Trump filed against Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger that same month, in an effort to overturn the state’s election results, used the surveillance footage — and the aforementioned false narrative —   as evidence   of alleged fraud. The suit   was dismissed   by the Supreme Court of Georgia less than two weeks later after being rejected by a lower court for administrative errors.

Trump lost Georgia to President Joe Biden by 11,779 votes,   according to Federal Election Commission data . Georgia officials have said on numerous occasions that the state’s count was accurate and that there was nowhere near enough fraud to put the results in question.

No, but they decided that water on the floor did.  The claim from Trumpland was that the delay in the counting because of the water was a ruse to allow people to be sent home and the cheating to commence.

None of that is true. Fact checks completely disprove your allegation.  The boxes that were taken out from under the table after people went home were perfectly normal procedure.

Giuliani lied about that, and other things, and admitted in court that he had lied .

It must have been really backed up if it flooded the arena. How much water came out of that toilet?

The claim from Trumpland was that the delay in the counting because of the water was a ruse to allow people to be sent home and the cheating to commence.

I'm not interested in unsubstantiated claims. I'm only interested in the explanation for stopping the vote count over a backed up toilet.

Like I said, this gaslighting of NT has to stop.

Nobody is gaslighting and nobody is claiming a fix was in.

The point John is that incidents like that raise questions, and the people have a right to ask questions about something that made as little sense as that did.

President-elect Trump has chosen former ICE Director Thomas Homan to act as a real border czar...

Noem, Thomas can get Hegseth to recall overseas military units from NATO countries and then they can seize all the private land along the border and set up outdoor detention centers like Gitmo. It will be fantastic on the news and everyone will get the word the US is closed to poor brown people.

So as not to spike prices in markets illegals worked in we can force the poor US citizens to do those jobs. We'll have to cut minimum wage, but that's not a problem for MAGA. Any judges that try to block these initiatives should be immediately investigated by Gaetz and removed from the bench too.

America will be great again...again.

Do you think that Trumps deport everyone including legal is going to work, if you look at history it has always been a failure in the long term, but it was always been the fall back position for the US when they things are going right for them, blame the immigrants, both legal and illegal. The tried and true method of the US.

In Trumps first term he made the same promise and deported less than Obama or Biden, I believe it was around 350,000 the courts shut down much so we’ll see this time around. As a word of warning be sure that your family has their papers with them at all times you wouldn’t want to see them sent back to some shithole country.

What were the circumstances for the Haitian entry into the US?

Haitians are not just arriving in Springfield, Ohio, but also in small rural towns nationwide as a result of several Biden-Harris administration policies.

Since fiscal 2021, more than 485,000 Haitian illegal border crossers, a record,  have been reported  by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The overwhelming majority were reported this fiscal year, nearly 216,000, compared to 48,727 in fiscal 2021.

Since fiscal 2021 through August, the majority have been apprehended at the southwest border of nearly 262,000, followed by nearly 221,000 nationwide and nearly 2,300 at the northern border, according to the data.

Additionally, since July, 205,000 Haitians have been released through the CHNV parole program,  according to CBP data .  Of the more than 765,000 illegal foreign nationals released into the country through the CBP One app, the top nationality is Haitian. Through these programs, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also extended Temporary Permanent Status to them and granted work authorization.

All of these programs are illegal, state attorneys general who've sued to stop them, argue. U.S. House Republicans also cited them as among the many illegal actions Mayorkas caused them to impeach him. Mayorkas has since only expanded the programs and  extended TPS .

When responding to the Haitian influx, local officials claim Haitians are there to work and are contributing to society despite claims by residents to the contrary.

The city of Springfield  claims  a "surge in our population over the last several years, primarily due to an influx of legal immigrants," suggesting that Springfield "is an appealing place for many reasons including lower cost of living and available work."

Springfield Mayor Bob Rue has said "my hands are tied in many ways" about the influx of Haitians, pointing to a designation they were given by the Biden-Harris administration. The TPS program "came from the White House and is a Homeland Security policy, " he said at a recent city commission  meeting .

It's not just Springfield, Haitians being flown to small towns nationwide

You cherry-pick from the fact-checker???   You skipped all the PolitiFact links and just point out that Google Fact Checker did not match on those specific words.

This, from PolitiFact, showed on your query too:

Just as Kavika noted @3.4.6

In Trumps first term he made the same promise and deported less than Obama or Biden, I believe it was around 350,000 the courts shut down much so we’ll see this time around. As a word of warning be sure that your family has their papers with them at all times you wouldn’t want to see them sent back to some shithole country.

For future reference, when a fact-checker says it did not find fact-checking, it is saying it did not match the specific words you used to express the claim.  It is not to be taken to mean that no fact-checking exists.

And Google Fact-Checker not getting a hit is to be expected since it works mostly on keywords.

Can it be explained?

The sexual assault is fictitious.  You might have been able to do something about it but instead the democrats and left waited ~30 years.  It was a CIVIL case that can only find somebody LIABLE for something.  No conviction.

The sad part is, neither of these would never have been brought if Trump wasn't such a threat to the left and the Democrats.

Again you misrepresent my article.   Just blatant dishonesty.

My article asks what Trump supporters believe is wrong with the economy and what they believe Trump will do to ‘fix’ what they perceive as wrong.

I argue that our current economy is strong:  growing GDP, normal unemployment, normal inflation rate, and that the bellwether of our economy continues to break record highs.   I posit that the key problem perceived by Trump supporters is high prices.   That is indeed a negative.

So, Vic, what is Trump going to do to lower prices across the board and/or raise wages so that prices are what his supporters expect?

Rather than dishonestly spin my challenge, put forth a thoughtful answer.

Gee, how come I don't get to say that.

My article asks what Trump supporters believe is wrong with the economy and what they believe Trump will do to ‘fix’ what they perceive as wrong.

Yes, that is your pointed question, however this was one of your premises:

So outside of prices and interest rates, let's look at the state of our economy.   The GDP is growing and healthy.   Wages are in good shape.   Unemployment is at a normal rate.   Inflation is at a normal rate.   We are a net exporter of fossil fuel energy.   We are exporting record levels of domestic crude.

For that to be true would render your question mute, does it not?  Why would Trump have to fix anything?

No, I'm critiquing ...

You just totally misrepresented my article.   You invented a contradiction that does not exist.   You pretend that the article claims that the economy is good and then merely asks how Trump is going to fix it.   The article claims the economy is good and asks what Trump supporters believe to cause them to think the economy is bad and what Trump is going to do to fix what they believe is bad.

Why would Trump have to fix anything?

Did you not see where I offered the likely problem per Trump supporters:  prices and interest rates?

What is Trump going to do, Vic, to lower prices across the board and lower interest rates?

Tell us all, specifically, how Trump is going to achieve this.

On that last line you alluded to that. I think you should have left out the part about the economy being good. Then I might have responded. As I have said many times there are certain facts that we all need to recognize. One is that the high prices caused by inflation haven't come down and they have a big impact on working people as well as those on fixed incomes. Until we can agree on that there is no reason to speculate on what the President-elect, who has already told us what he will do, is going to do.

Not a surprise that nobody can tell us what Trump is going to do to fix the problems of the economy as perceived by Trump supporters.

So many people voted for Trump for 'the economy' yet nobody can articulate what Trump is going to do and how it will address the concerns of the Trump supporters.

Even when I offer that prices is the dominant negative of an otherwise good economy nobody can explain how Trump is going to lower prices across the board.

Harris never claimed that she would fix prices across the board.   She stated that she would target those who are currently price-gouging.   That is a specific, legal action to go after those engaging in unfair business practices.

People voted for Trump because of the economy (major factor) and the prices of goods is the key factor that causes them to perceive the economy as bad.

You have tacitly admitted that Trump has no method (pixie dust) to lower prices as his supporters suggest.    His supporters voted for Trump, in part, for something he cannot fix.

It makes perfect sense.   She was part of the dem machine trying to tell people there was no issue and inflation was just transitory.  Why do anything about something that does not exist in their eyes?  It only became an issue when they told her she was losing votes over it and people were not buying the shit she was selling

Same for the border. It only became a priority when they were going to lose votes over it.

So what were their priorities?

Trying to hide Bidens health from the American people

Surrounding themselves with "historic" firsts in positions in the white house.

Then there is this nugget of outright stupidity:

ACLU sues federal government for information on possible Trump mass deportations

The ACLU is requesting information on how U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Air operations and programs can be used to detain and deport illegal immigrants.

"For months, the ACLU has been preparing for the possibility of a mass detention and deportation program, and FOIA litigation has been a central part of our roadmap," ACLU staff attorney Kyle Virgien   told Axios . "A second Trump administration underscores the urgency of our litigation."

The lawsuit comes after ICE failed to respond to a records request filed in August. The lawsuit is demanding all ICE contracts and records regarding air transportation that has been designated to remove illegal immigrants, and information on the ground transportation used to shuttle the illegal immigrants to airports.

These blockheads are suing for information about an operation that hasn't even remotely started and by somebody who hasn't taken office yet.
