Gov. JB Pritzker vows Illinois will boost sex changes after decisive Trump victory | Fox News
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker posted on X Saturday in recognition of Transgender Awareness Week. His billionaire family is deeply involved in awarding grants to the transgender movement.

Blue state governors Polis, Pritzker help launch a resistance group ahead of second Trump term

Daily Caller columnist Will Pierce reacts to the pre-inauguration move by state Democratic Party leaders on 'Fox & Friends.'

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker pledged Saturday to keep his state open to transgender treatment after the issue, particularly regarding minors, became a bone of partisan contention during the presidential election.
The billionaire governor, whose family is deeply involved in the transgender movement, posted the tweet to mark Transgender Awareness Week.
"This Transgender Awareness Week, I want you to know that I see you and have your back as governor," wrote Pritzker. "Illinois has enshrined protections for gender-affirming care to meet this moment — and because of that, you will have a home here always."
OHIO SENATE PASSES BILL THAT WOULD RESTRICT TRANSGENDER STUDENT ACCESS TO SCHOOL BATHROOMS
His state is one of several, including Minnesota and California, critics say foster a climate that encourages some children to seek so-called "gender-affirming care."

Pritzker's cousin, Jennifer, was born a male but now identifies as a female and is an outspoken proponent of transgender treatment. Jennifer (nee James) Pritzker was a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army National Guard and is a father of three.
Jennifer Pritzker also leads the Chicago-based Tawani Foundation, which awards grants to organizations that support "gender and human sexuality," according to its website. The Pritzker family fortune was made in Hyatt Hotels.

"Continuing my family's tradition of putting personal philanthropy into service for the public good, the Tawani Foundation strives to make grants that empower the organizations we support to realize and build on their missions," Jennifer wrote on the foundation's website.
TRUMP HHS COULD REVERSE BIDEN-HARRIS POLICIES ON GENDER TREATMENTS FOR MINORS
Illinois is one of the most progressive states in the nation when it comes to minors who identify as the opposite sex.

Gov. Pritzker enacted guidance through the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHR) in December 2021 about non-discrimination protections for "transgender, nonbinary and gender nonconforming students" under the Illinois Human Rights Act of 1979.
"Ensuring every Illinois student has access to a safe, validating learning environment where they can be their true self is a top priority for my administration," Pritzker said in a release. "This guidance from the Illinois Department of Human Rights will provide students, caregivers, and educators another tool to ensure classrooms are welcoming, affirming, and inclusive for all students."

In Illinois, biological males can compete with females under Pritzker's guidance in school or club sports.
Additionally, "use of restrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms may not be restricted based upon a student's physical anatomy or chromosomal sex. A student must be permitted to access restrooms or bathrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms that align with their gender-related identity and without having to provide documentation or other proof of gender," according to the IDHR.

Pritzker's policy clarifies that "discomfort or privacy concerns of other students, teachers, or parents" are "not valid reasons to deny or limit the full and equal use of facilities based on a student's gender-related identity."

The 2024 presidential election's nationwide GOP mandate is giving Democrats who publicly supported "gender-affirming" policies for minors pause.
In a February 2023 video, President-elect Trump said, "I will then ask Congress to permanently stop federal taxpayer dollars from being used to promote or pay for these procedures and pass a law prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states."

In Illinois, Medicaid can cover gender transition surgeries and drugs for those who are 21 years or older under Gov. Pritzker.

I personally don't care if a grown man wants to pretend he's a woman, but don't expect the rest of us to participate in your delusion.

When it comes to children however, I find it disturbing anyone would support this non science based nonsense.

They are pretending. Let's look at male to female trained first.

Do they now or the have they ever had a penis?

Answer is yes.

Do they or have they ever had a scrotum?

Answer is yes.

Do they now or have they ever had testicles.

Answer is yes.

Do they now or have they ever had a prostate.

Answer is yes.

Do they  XY chromosomes

Answer is yes

Now what does science (biology) say that someone that was born and has or had these things  call that. It calls them males.

Now for female to male

Do they now or have they ever had ovaries?

Answer is yes.

Do they now or have they ever had fallopian tubes

Answer is yes.

Do they now or have they ever had a uterus?

Answer is yes?

Do they have XX chromosomes?

Answer is yes.

Science  (again biology) says those are females.

It is cute and dried.

Well, when bodies start living life apart from minds. . . and individual spirit. . . let us know. Because bodies don't direct the body. . . the brains of the individual does.

The mind does all kinds of wonderful things. Among these things is the ability to be confused and pretend to be something the person is not.

We all have an individual spirit, but the mind is forever joined to the body. The science says males and females are not interchangeable.

Trans kids need counseling, not "gender affirming care"

Prove it. Tell us how long the collective "you' have known somebody transgender as a family member or friend. Tell us about all the practical experiences of being/living 'trans' the collective you heard from the 'interviews' taking place.

Go ahead. Tell us how some conservatives became absolutely sure about what it means to live in a world of scorn and misperceptions and beatings and probable death instead of just going along to get along. Tell us about those 'longings' inside coupled with a fine mind that won't allow itself to be comfortable with its physical exterior features (no matter how nice they are).

Go ahead. Tell us. Explain to us, why the collective "you" get the freedom to live and love whosoever you will. . . as often as you will. . . and prosper in doing so from a life-time of EXPERIENCES that potentially can span 60 through100 years. But, the collective "you" begrudges another individual in this country the same/similar freedoms (of living and loving) and instead will accept the IDEA that they should just live like "you."

The collective "you" don't know (or care to know apparently) enough about the people whom you share the country. Some conservatives obviously want control over others and are jealous of the freedoms others would take and hold were it not for some conservatives always, always, always, standing between people and their gain and prospering.

The mind does do a lot of wonderful things. Also, the mind informs, directs, and motivates individuals to 'wants' and drives in this life. . . and in some cases any individual will become sick and anemic if one has to fight his or her spirit (the essence of being) for a lifetime - pretending to be "You" when they are not. And to know that they are only pretending to be "You" to make you happy, because it has nothing 'in it' for him/her.

I am not sure where to start with your article (maybe it is the time I picked to read it having an affect on me). That said, I will just pick a 'place' in the article I linked at 1.2 (below) and just in:

"Regret" about transition is extremely rare.

Feigned concerns about “regret” around medical transition completely fail to see the reality of trans people’s lives. The vast majority of trans people  cannot even access  the transition-related care they need! The truth is that trans people deserve competent and compassionate health care as they seek to live their best lives – and that very, very few ever regret receiving this care.  One Dutch study  of nearly 7,000 transgender people found that the rate of regret was less than 1% among those who received treatment as adults – and there were no cases of regret among those who received care before the age of 18.

It’s helpful to put this fearmongering about “regret” into context. Up to 30% of knee replacement patients  regret getting surgery  – but no one’s trying to ban those!

Research tells us that the overwhelming majority of people who transition medically are satisfied with their decision to do so. Of the very few people who have detransitioned, over 82% did so because of  external pressures  such as rejection from family, and discrimination in education or employment. Most people also only detransitioned temporarily – likely due to those same pressures from others - before resuming their lives as trans people.

In the last sentence of the above is a mention of meddling people in the lives of others which takes on important survival issues and instincts for people at home, in public, in housing (outside the familial setting), and on a job. If people would simply let people "live and thrive" when no harm is caused, perhaps some of these negative "reactions" written about will dissipate. Right now, the data is skewered and "contaminated" by meddlers who are against transsexualism in and of itself.

That's not strictly true.  Although it's probably more accurate to say that transgender activists (most of whom are not trans themselves) are doing the disrupting.

Most people are more than willing to mind their own business.

But then some nutjob decides if we don't let someone like Will Thomas undress with and then compete against women we're somehow violating his rights.  Or some other nutjob decides her 3 year old is transgender and proceeds to ruin his life to satisfy her own narcissism.  If we call her what she obviously is, we're somehow "afraid" of trans people.

It's lunacy.

Transsexual athletes will need special consideration on how to enter the sporting world they love as girls and women and vice versa. It is a sincere debate worth happening. It is being decided by those who head the leagues. Let's give them time to come up with something. Although, let's be clear, some conservatives do not want anybody to be "trans' anything sexually. It goes against the status quo (of old).

And then 1.1.9 'went there' (couldn't help itself I guess) with name-calling and mocking people ("nutjobs"). The thing speaks for itself!

The point is some conservatives get to raise their kids the way they wish, and plenty of those children run away from home because they are LGBTQ and their strict father run homes 'removes' them from its sight, and cities and metropolises take these kids in and grow them up to be productive men and women all things being equal. Those kids have to be allowed freedom somewhere. Transyouth and transpeople are happening in the world today. Putting them out, or looking pass them with public policy prescriptions which ignore their existence  is wishful thinking, not dealing with a real-world issue.

Let's deal with all real world issues.

Why?  Absolutely nobody else gets special consideration.  I thought you said they weren't disrupting anyone's lives?  Special consideration sounds pretty disruptive.

It is being decided by those who head the leagues.

It was decided by people who were being bullied by angry activists who don't play sports, and now it's gradually being rectified by huge numbers of people demanding common sense.

("nutjobs"). The thing speaks for itself!

It does.  A person who thinks people born male should be competing in leagues reserved for women is absolutely insane.  Do they not understand why women's sports exist in the first place?

and plenty of those children run away from home

Define "plenty".

Those kids have to be allowed freedom somewhere.

Absolutely.  In the men's leagues.

Putting them out, or looking pass them with public policy prescriptions which ignore their existence  is wishful thinking, not dealing with a real-world issue.

The idea that making them play sports with the boys constitutes "putting them out" is a great example of how full of shit the whole "not disrupting" statement is.

They're not disrupting, the rest of the world just needs to change to accommodate them.

Special consideration (SC) means precisely what it states. I won't belabor it. It is something 'new' appearing in the sporting world and the sporting world will have to decern, determine, and judge how to implement their placement in it.

And as for as ' absolutely nobody else gets SC, that is not true . Recently on Netflix:

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

A 58-year-old man fighting a 27-year-old man in a sanctioned professional boxing match is not normal. Neither are the rules by which  Mike Tyson and Jake Paul  will be fighting Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

In a bout scheduled for eight rounds, here are the most important things to know about the non-traditional rules:

The rounds will last two minutes, a minute shorter than the standard three-minute round typically used for men’s bouts. (Two-minute rounds are used for amateur fights and most women’s pro fights.)

The boxing gloves will weigh 14 ounces rather than the standard 10-ounce gloves typically used in sanctioned pro fights by boxers who weigh 147 pounds or more.

Serrano vs. Taylor

Women fight two minutes round instead of three minutes of 10.

Two-weight undisputed champion Katie Taylor didn't agree right away with Serrano's request for a three-minute round fight when they became the first women boxers to main event Madison Square Garden in 2022.

"I don't know if women’s boxing has the strength and depth to have three-minute rounds," Taylor said via  The Seattle Times . "For me, I really don't care whether it's a two or three-minute round. I spar three-minute rounds all the time. There’s pros and cons to both really."

The point being "special consideration" is decided by the sanctioning officials

The remainder of that comment (not addressed) seems to be focused on the 'weakest' part of the debate: Transgender sports. Well, we've dealt with it and the leagues are actively dealing with this. However, there are transgender students who have no interest in sports. . . some conservatives should not lump them in with athletes for they are not. They simply want to live free and prosper in their native land (right alongside their fellow Americans).

You don't think requiring everyone else to change behavior is disruptive?

And as for as ' absolutely nobody else gets SC, that is not true .

You're comparing an exhibition with nothing at stake and a time change to competitive matches where some athletes have stupidly unfair advantages.  Are you just willing to attempt any rationalization to avoid facing the obvious?

However, there are transgender students who have no interest in sports. . . some conservatives should not lump them in with athletes for they are not. They simply want to live free and prosper in their native land (right alongside their fellow Americans).

What laws do we have against that, CB?  How, specifically, are these people prohibited from living free and prospering?

There is positive change of behavior just as there is negative change of behavior.  I am comparing SANCTIONED sporting events by paid performers in a contest

Some conservatives in congress of all the places which should be UNDERSTANDING of its legitimate (elected) participants, just passed a house policy that the newly elected trans-member of congress can't piss and sh-it with females. . . because apparently congressional women would be expected to see penis (if actual) and faint. Generally-speaking, mature women have seen a penis before. . . on many occasions.

Besides the above, a man who wants to sneak a peek at naked women. . . take them on a date and offer 'great' conversation, plus. Not hang out with women pretending they don't have a penis (when they do). They're better thought of as 'sisters' —from different mothers.

But this does go to prove my point; it is some conservatives who 'always' try to stir up cultural issues between otherwise reasonable people. Always some conservatives who lie and say they want MAX freedoms. . . but what they actually want is a return to 'yesterdays' status quo.

[V]ery young children do not receive surgeries or medications . For young children, gender transition is a social transition, which often involves a haircut, a new name, and new clothes that match their gender identity. For adolescents, any medical transition care such as hormone therapy or puberty blockers are only prescribed based on an individual young person’s needs.

Any surgical care for teenagers under 18 is rare and individualized. It is carefully examined under the supervision of medical professionals using standardized, evidence-based guidelines. Like everyone, those teenagers deserve the best possible medical care for their well-being. Importantly,  young people deserve privacy  as they make their own decisions with the support of parents, mental health professionals, and doctors.

And when did transgendered people become 'property' of the nanny state? Seems to me that people who do not submit to the sciences involved in dealing and helping trans-youth and trans-adults adjust to new-found life in a body, mind, spirit acceptance of themselves ought not to be declaring themselves champions of freedom, liberty, and abundance.

The "nanny state" that obviously some conservatives are invoking for liberals. As it appears some conservatives are seeking domination of society as a whole for the sheer purposes of suppressing others (back into the 'box'). All the while some conservatives use jingoisms like: "freedoms," 'liberties,' and "equality"—but only for themselves.

We all would like to have our rights in public spaces (private spaces - with strangers in a 'dressing,' 'fitting,' practice/work space?). The instance one steps outside of one's dwelling. . .one enters the public sphere where rules which we all are expected to abide by carry the day. Transsexuals are a part of the fabric of this country! Being 'nasty,' harmful, mean-spirited, and demonizing of them is morally wrong. They can not help who they are any more than the collective 'you.' There, but for the grace of God goes any of us!

'Ancient' minded people will soon come up with a measure that stops actors/actresses, models, and stage performers (circus performers) . . .entertainers in general from sharing changing rooms. It is not enough that to SPITE homosexual liberties that physical fitness classes in schools were opted out and in some cases away (at least that is what I hear)—and then some conservatives complain and pen articles about why "little Timmy" is so wide in the front and back. Go figure.

Stop effing around in this attempt to reinstitute suppression of a free society. It bodes bad for the "nanny state" something some conservatives lied and damned liberals for: caring. Now here it is in stark relief. . . some conservatives masquerading as giving a damn . . . when what this is really about is a DIFFERENT FORM OF CONTROL. Rape is another form of control too, I have read.

Stop trying to steal other people liberties and go 'fix' the collective "you" problems which are legion and getting more pronounced. Those problems the collective you ignore are going to overload their 'butt" soon.

We ain't getting back in the 'box.' We've got everything (and nothing) to lose. The struggle will continue.
